King George Boulevard is Surrey BC’s primary north-south arterial corridor — running from the Fraser River in the north through Newton to the US border at Peace Arch in the south. For families living along or near King George Blvd, licensed childcare access spans Newton, Whalley, and the communities along the entire corridor. This guide covers childcare along the King George Blvd corridor in Surrey BC.
King George Blvd: Surrey BC’s Family Spine
King George Blvd passes through multiple distinct Surrey BC communities: Whalley/City Centre in the north (high-rise density, transit hub at King George SkyTrain Station); Newton (dense family neighbourhood, mini Minds Childcare cluster near 96 Avenue); and South Surrey/White Rock area in the south (more suburban, less licensed care density). The Newton section of King George Blvd — between 72 Avenue and 100 Avenue — has the highest concentration of licensed childcare facilities in the entire corridor. See our Newton guide and Whalley guide.
Transit Along King George Blvd for Childcare Commuters
King George Blvd is served by multiple bus routes — connecting the King George SkyTrain Station in the north to Newton Exchange (96 Ave and King George), and south towards South Surrey and White Rock. For commuter families: dropping off at a Newton licensed centre near 96 Ave and King George, then transiting north to King George SkyTrain, is a highly practical commute pattern.
